The Nuart Theater is an inter-denominational, non-profit outreach ministry in downtown Moscow, Idaho.  It is a multi-faceted ministry designed to reach out to people of all ages in a friendly, comfortable way with the truths of the Gospel, and lead them into a walk with God.

Now... if you would call yourself a non-Christian... we don’t want you to get the idea that you will feel pressured at the Nuart.  We would love having you around... whatever you believe.  The point is, we like to talk about ultimate things. Things that really matter.  We love to ask all the big life questions, and try to answer them. We need you at the Nuart, because the last thing we want is to stand around discussing only with people who have the same opinions we do!  We long for the coffee-house days of the ‘60s, when people went looking for deep discussions-- not like today when no one wants to talk about any big subject for fear of offending someone.  We love to examine the claims of all beliefs... and if you feel like examining, too, come on in.  If you don’t feel like examining... just have a cup of coffee and watch a movie or a band, or surf the web.  We’ll leave you alone.  But if you ever want or need us... we’re there for you.  We believe that God truly loves every person on the planet. So we do, too. That’s why we’re here.

The Nuart Theater has been a favorite movie house in Moscow since 1935, but since re-opening in 2004, it offers more than ever before.  The Nuart Theater is not a bookstore, a movie theater, an espresso shop, or a concert venue, per se... -- it is an outreach center and street ministry that uses books, movies, espresso, live music, to get people in the doors and then build relationship with them.

The Nuart is the latest incarnation of "people-store" ministry under Community Christian Ministries, which has been doing ministry in Moscow since 1969.  The CCM board is made up of Christian leaders and workers from 7 different churches, and meets twice a year to guide four ministries, including the Nuart.  CCM oversees three other people-store locations in Pullman, WA, Gunnison, CO, and Logan, UT. http://ccmbooks.org/    The Nuart Theater building is owned by the cooperative board of CCM. The Nuart Board Of Directors is made up of leaders from 11 local churches.
